RediCalm claims to reduce stress and relieve anxiety with just five all-natural and vegan-friendly ingredients.
Stress is common for most of us. When we lead such busy lives juggling our work and home lives, we crave stress relief on a daily basis. However, supplement development company Nutreance believes that stress is biological and that medication is often the answer. This might sound very clinical, but Nutreance claims to have designed a product that can alleviate the symptoms of stress, using just five natural ingredients.
According to Nuance, RediCalm has been clinically proven to relieve stress and anxiety, but does it work? With a proprietary blend of just 350 mg and no specific dosages, we doubt there can be enough of each of these five ingredients to be effective. And without knowing dosages, it is difficult for us to do an honest review – but we will do our best.
5 Second Redicalm Review Summary:
EXPENSIVE. Not worth the money. This product hides doses behind a proprietary blend and even then can only contain low amounts of key ingredients. We’d recommend an alternative to bust your stress.
What is it?
RediCalm is a dietary supplement that Nutreance manufactures. It is made up of a proprietary blend of all-natural ingredients, which allegedly reduce stress levels and relieve anxiety. In addition, it is vegan-friendly, gluten-free, and not genetically modified (GMO-free).
It is scientifically proven that two neurotransmitters, serotonin, and GABA heavily influence your overall mood. When your levels of GABA and serotonin are low, your mind can be consumed with anxious thoughts.
GABA – Gamma-aminobutyric acid is one of the nervous system’s key neurotransmitters that act as an inhibitor in regulating nerve signals in the brain. Any changes to the body’s GABA levels can undoubtedly lead to an unbalanced state of excitatory and inhibitory signals. Certain drugs can target GABA-specific receptors to treat anxiety disorders.
Serotonin – Serotonin is another critical neurotransmitter that is thought to regulate our mood and our stress levels. The majority of our serotonin production happens in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Therefore, orally ingested compounds can affect the production of serotonin in the gut.
Promoting healthy levels of serotonin and GABA is a great way to calm the mind. Unfortunately, some professionals consider prescription medication to be the only treatment for anxiety (however, some doctors promote a more natural approach).
How to Use
Each bottle of RediCalm contains 30 capsules, and it is recommended that customers take 1-2 tablets daily.
The company suggests that you take one capsule when you wake up to allow the calming nutrients to work throughout the day. You can also take an additional capsule in the evening to keep you calm throughout the night.
This product can be taken without food, but it may take more time for your body to absorb the ingredients.
Every capsule (350 mg) is made up of a proprietary blend of the following five ingredients:
- Lemon Balm
- Passion Flower
This product is marketed as a proprietary blend, and we are not told how much of each ingredient is included.
This sets off alarm bells. You’re getting charged a lot of money for what could be very low doses.
Ashwagandha, otherwise known as Withania somnifera (WS), is a Hindu herb that is thought to help treat stress and anxiety.
A review of 5 human clinical trials was conducted, which tested the effectiveness of ashwagandha for treating anxiety and stress. This review did report some reduction in stress and anxiety levels.
However, studies using Ashwagdha tend to use at least 300 mg. As this proprietary blend is only 350 mg, it is doubtful that this supplement contains enough ashwagandha for consumers to benefit.
L-theanine is a type of amino acid that is thought to improve cognitive function. It can be found in everyday black and green tea.
One study found that a supplement containing 200 mg of L-theanine reduced stress. However, we can’t know how much L-Theanine is in this product.
Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata L.) has some medicinal qualities and is sometimes used to treat anxiety, nervousness, hysteria, and neurasthenia.
In one study, passionflower was tested as a treatment for nervous restlessness. The results suggested that the passionflower gave some resistance to stress and reduced fear, anxiety, insomnia, and exhaustion.
5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is an amino acid that your body produces naturally. It is a crucial producer of serotonin.
When your serotonin levels decrease, this can lead to behavioral and mental conditions, such as stress and depression. 5-HTP is often added to dietary supplements to treat symptoms associated with low serotonin levels.
Anyone taking prescribed anti-depression medication must be cautious about consuming SHT-P. This is because they are already taking medication to increase serotonin, and too much serotonin can also cause problems.
Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) has medicinal qualities which people have taken advantage of for at least 2000 years. It is commonly thought to improve mood and cognition.
One study that administered dosages of 600 mg, 1000 mg, and 1600 mg of lemon balm found that a dosage of 1600 mg had the most notable effect on mood and cognition.
Due to the low dosage of this supplement, it is impossible for it to contain enough lemon balm for it to be effective.
Price and Value for Money
- One jar of RediCalm contains 30 capsules.
- Customers are given the option of one-time billing or auto-delivery.
- A 30-day supply is $39.99, with free shipping for a second bottle purchase and $10 off any order of 3 bottles.
- The auto-delivery option is an excellent way to save money because shipments are free.
Because customers can take two capsules a day, this could be a very costly treatment option, as one bottle would not be enough to sustain you for a whole month.
RediCalm does offer a diverse blend of natural ingredients specifically designed for anxiety and stress relief.
However, the individual dosage amounts are not provided on the nutrition label, so it is impossible to determine its overall effectiveness. In addition, it only contains 350 mg of ingredients, which suggests there are insufficient amounts of each individual ingredient.
- Some research backs the proposed benefits of the individual ingredients (although at high dosages).
- A 30-day supply can be expensive, especially if you take two capsules a day.
- The quantities of ingredients are not listed, and at 350 mg for the whole supplement, there can’t be enough to make any difference to consumers.
Overall we do not recommend this product, but you can read more for yourself.
